Major Patch Update 5/25

Hey everyone! Thank you all for joining our Chroma Chronicles Beta. our main focus over the last month has been game stability. Additionally, we’ve brought on another developer to help knock out some of these pesky bugs y’all have been helping us find. Here’s a list of changes you’ll find in the latest update. 

  • New Features

    • Added an option to mute opponent’s emotes.

    • Added a new life display during the match. This allows a spectator to quickly see what the match score is when they pop into a stream. 

  • Small Changes/Improvements.

    • Changed several instances of warrior/thief/mage to klay/jade/luna. We want our characters to be themselves and not refer to them by their class names. 

    • Reload now has a confirmation popup

  • Card Balance and changes

    • Punching Bag

      • Changed to once per turn.

      • Power-level wise, this card isn’t in a bad place. The turns that you get a triple hit of one color feel like they lead to an awful game state for the opponent though. We want to lower the ceiling of this card, and keep it in line with a lot of the other once per turn equipment.

    • Apprentice of Light

      • Illuminate: 1/1/2/3 -> 1/2/3/4

      • This card hasn’t seen a ton of use, and it felt a little lackluster even at higher tiers. The illuminate effect should feel impactful when you hit with a silver or a gold card so we are increasing the number of cards revealed.

    • Small Smithy

      • Changed so that the order you equip these does not matter. It will always use the weakest small smithy possible first to upgrade the card hit.

    • Flash Powder

      • Quick: 1/1/1/1 -> 1/1/2/3

      • This card was one of our least impressive 3 stars. Were buffing it at gold and diamond. It also felt a little weird that it was out quicked by borrowed brush and hunting knife. We want Jade’s 3 star green card to feel powerful.

    • Summon: Snowman

      • Gold nerfed from 11 damage, frostbite ALL -> 20 damage, frostbite 2.

      • This card was too powerful and impactful at gold. It should still stand out as a meaningful upgrade to avalanche because it gains the second frostbite at silver. Although the upgrade to gold on this card won’t be as impactful as it was, we still expect this card to be a powerful option for luna.

  • Bug Fixes

    • Fixed several issues causing crashes in journeys. 

    • Fixed several tutorial bugs.

    • Fixed a bug where luna relics that were being activated due to refresh setting their cooldown to 0 were not displaying.

    • Time bank overlay should no longer get stuck on the screen

    • Fixed emotes crashing matches against AI

    • AI opponents now use abilities on cards that require you to select a target.

    • Fixed an issue where diamond tornado and diamond dust bunny were not properly proccing relics multiple times.

    • Fixed a bug where inflame damage was not being displayed

    • Ethereal battle bugle is now discarded when it hits so you do not get the reinforcements.

    • Red damage bar for relics properly lasts the whole turn

    • Fixed a bug where bronze lava darts was dealing less damage than intended.

Minor Patch Update 4/22
